Questions
Answers to the questions we're asked most often. If yours isn't here, get in touch.
What areas do you cover?
We work across the East Midlands and the South East of England. Spencer is based in North Northamptonshire.
Are you architects?
Antevasin Architecture is an architectural design practice, and Spencer and Zac are architectural designers. In the UK the title "architect" is reserved for people on the Architects Registration Board (ARB) register. We do what artchitects do and have degrees in architecture. Spencer has a Bachelor of Architectural Studies from Victoria University of Wellington and Zachary has a BA(Hons) in Architectural Design and Technology from Solent University. He will be doing his part 2 in 2027.
What kind of projects do you take on?
Mostly homes: extensions, conversions, one-off new houses and the retrofit of existing buildings to make them warmer, healthier and cheaper to run.
Can you help with planning permission?
Yes. We prepare the drawings and supporting documents for planning applications, householder applications and lawful development certificates.
Do you produce building regulations drawings?
Yes. We prepare the technical drawings and specifications needed for building control approval, which your builder can also price and build from.
What does "fabric first" mean?
It means getting the building itself right before adding technology: good insulation, airtightness, high-performance windows and careful detailing to avoid heat loss. A well-built fabric keeps a home comfortable and cuts energy bills for its whole life, and makes any heating system work better.
What is the AECB?
The Association for Environment Conscious Building is a UK network of designers, builders and suppliers committed to low-energy, low-carbon building. Antevasin has been a member since 2013.
How much do your services cost?
Fees depend on the size and complexity of the project and which stages you need help with. After an initial conversation about your project we'll give you a clear quote.
How do we get started?
Send us a message through the contact page with a few details about your property and what you'd like to do, and we'll arrange an initial conversation.
